Can you imagine being middle-aged and then abandoned by your family? That's what it's like when a family has to surrender their dog to a shelter. Remember, they might just be several years of your life, but you are their entire life…
Recently, a dog lover got the strongest urge to just swing by the local shelter. She didn't know why, but she followed that urge with her family. When she got there, the first dog they saw was an extremely sad-looking boy who was 7 years old, that's almost 50 in dog years! The poor baby was left there by his previous family and looked like he had given up all hope. But not on this dog lover's watch!
Her family agreed that they were not leaving that shelter without that dog, and so they adopted him. They took the sweet boy home and he immediately transformed from sad and timid to happiest playful baby! Now named Riggs, he's living his best life with his new furever family, proving that old dogs can learn new tricks and then some!
